Grammar explanation 文法解釋
A few and a bit of or a little mean some. Often we feel this amount is enough or more than we expected. We use a few with plural nouns and a bit of or a little with uncountable nouns.
A few、 a bit ofa little 都是指一些,表示我們覺得這個數量是足夠的,或超過我們的預期。可數複數名詞 會搭配a few不可數名詞 會搭配 a bit of a little

I have a few ideas. 我有一些點子。
I've brought a few friends. 我帶了一些朋友。
There's a bit of milk left. 有一些牛奶剩下來了。
It needs a little more work. 它需要多一點努力。

We use few and very little to show that we are talking about a small amount. Often we feel this amount is not enough or less than we expected. Few is for countable nouns and very little is for uncountable nouns. few very little 是指數量很少,表示我們覺得數量不夠或是低於預期。 few 用於可數名詞,而very little用於不可數名詞。

Few people came to the meeting. 很少人來參加會議。
There are few places where you can still see these birds. 你只能在很少地方看到這些鳥。
We have very little time. 我們有很少時間(我們幾乎沒時間了)。
I have very little money. 我們有很少錢(我們幾乎沒錢了)。

Note that you can use little without very, but it is less common and sounds quite formal. 我們也可以省略掉 very little 中的 very,但是比較少見,聽起來也比較正式。

She had little water. 她有很少水。
